Bettis estrelou como Carrie White em Carrie de 2002, uma refilmagem feita para a TV do clássico de Brian De Palma, de 1976; e como Nell Barrows em Toolbox Murders, de Tobe Hooper, um remake só de nome de um filme de terror obscuro 1970. Ela também estrelou o thriller policial Scar.[1]
Ela teve um papel recorrente na série de tv Dexter como Emily Birch, a primeira vítima de Jordan Chase.
