Biografia
Van Balen foi aluno de Adam van Noort e estudou arte em viagem a Itália[1]. Ele era o professor de seu filho Johannes, Anthony Van Dyck e Frans Snyders e também foi um contemporâneo de muitos outros famosos artistas flamengos, como o Brueghels , Jan e Peter .
