Estado de conservação
Esta subespécie encontra-se na lista vermelha da IUCN como não ameaçada, pois embora a Ilha de Penang esteja susceptível à perda de habitat devido aos estabelecimentos turísticos, últimamente os desmatamentos têm sido mínimos.[1]
