From دَار‎ (dār, “house”) +‎ بَيْضَاء‎ (bayḍāʔ, “white”): a calque of the original Portuguese name Casa Branca (“White House”, casa +‎ branca), changed to Casablanca when the Spanish assumed control of the city.
