      laʕamruka mā ʔin ḍarranī wasṭa ḥimyarin / waʔaqwālihā ʔillā l-maḵīlatu was-sukur
      waḡayru aš-šaqāʔi al-mustabīni, falaytanī / ʔajarra lisānī yawma ḏalikumu mujirr
      Nothing hurt me amidst Himyar / and its Qayls but haughtiness and drunks / and clear misery. If only I held my tongue on that day!
