The same wanderwort may be reflected in Hebrew קוֹף (qōf), Akkadian uqūpu, Egyptian gfj, Middle Persian [script needed] (kpyk' /⁠kabīg⁠/), English ape, all meaning “monkey, ape”, and Ancient Greek κῆπος (kêpos, long-tailed monkey).
