पलाली

Sanskrit

Etymology

Probably related to पलाव (palāva, chaff); compare also the "masculine" form पलाल (palāla, straw).

A Dravidian borrowing (compare Tamil புல் (pul, grass)), as Burrow suggests, is possible but less likely.

Pronunciation

पलाली • (palālī)
