Cognate with Kannada ಮೊಸಳೆ (mosaḷe), Kolami మొసెలి (moseli), Irula மொஜலெ (mojale), Kodava ಮೊಸಳೆ (mosaḷe), Tamil முதலை (mutalai), Telugu మొసలి (mosali), Tulu ಮೊದಳೆ್ (modaḷæ) and Sanskrit मुसली (musalī).
