Possibly borrowed via a Turkic language, compare Turkish terzi. From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (dlcyk' /darzīg/, “tailor”) and ultimately from Proto-Iranian *darz- (“to attach, fasten; to load; to sew”).
