-mény

  1. (noun-forming suffix) Added to a verb to form a noun indicating the result of the action.
    ered (to originate) + -ményeredmény (result)

Usage notes

  • (noun-forming suffix) Variants:
    -mány is added to back-vowel words
    Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value) is added to front-vowel words
    -omány same as -mány with a linking vowel
    -emény same as -mény with a linking vowel
  • Note: Although the following words end in -mény, they are not derivations: böszörmény, kemény, kémény, kömény, örmény, remény, termény, tömény.
