Etymology
Perhaps from kuore. The name may have been derived with + -nne, resulting in an oblique stem *Kuorante- (e.g. adessive singular *Kuoranteella). After metathesis, this could have become *Kuortane- (e.g. adessive singular Kuortaneella).[1]
