From Punjabi ਲਹਿੰਦਾ (lahindā, “west, western”), from Punjabi ਲਹਿਣਾ (lahiṇā, “to come down”), compare Sindhi لهڻ (lahaṇu, “to obtain, get down, go down”).[1]
