Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish دینوزور (dinozor), from French dinosaure, from English dinosaur, from Ancient Greek δεινός (deinós, “terrible, awesome, mighty, fearfully great”) + σαῦρος (saûros, “lizard, reptile”). Coined by paleontologist Richard Owen in 1841/1842.
