From Ottoman Turkish كزندی (gezindi, gezinti, a corridor, place where there is much walking, an idle stroller)[1], from Ottoman Turkish كزنمك (gezinmek, to go about without a definite purpose) or Ottoman Turkish كزینمك (gezinmek)[2], from Ottoman Turkish كزمك (gezmek, to move or travel about in, to go about or lounge about), from Proto-Turkic *keŕ- (to wander, to walk through)[3][4], morphologically gez- + -in + -ti.
