Turkish Kayseri manti

Etymology

The immediate source is Turkish mantı or Ottoman Turkish مانطی. Before that the origin is obscure. The word was widespread in central Asia by the 13th century. Chinese 饅頭 (MC muɑn dəu, “steamed bun”) may be another borrowing, making manti a doublet of mandu, manju, and mantou.
