Possibly from or related to nyanga, from Mende nyanga (ostentation; showing off). Possibly influenced by Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value). Compare Proto-Bantu *-yȧng- (dance in joy) and Kongo -yangalala (be happy).
