Toshio Suzuki (produtor)

Toshio Suzuki (鈴木 敏夫 Suzuki Toshio?, Nagoia, 19 de agosto de 1948) é um produtor cinematográfico de animes.[1] Suzuki é conhecido por ser um dos produtores mais bem sucedidos do Japão, após os êxitos de muitos filmes do Studio Ghibli, do qual foi presidente e co-fundador.[2][3]

Biografia

Suzuki nasceu em Nagoia (Aichi) em 1948. Em 1967, se matriculou na Universidade Keio e se formou em literatura em 1972.[4]

Prêmios

Em 2014, Suzuki foi nomeado ao lado de Hayao Miyazaki por seu trabalho em Kaze Tachinu ao Oscar de melhor filme de animação.[5] Também no ano de 2014, no anual MEXT Art Encouragement Prizes, Suzuki ganhou o "Grande Prêmio" por seu desenvolvimento como produtor em Kaze Tachinu e Kaguya-hime no Monogatari.[6]

Em 2017, foi novamente indicado ao Oscar de melhor filme de animação por La Tortue rouge.[7]
