Maureen Stapleton
Lois Maureen Stapleton (Troy, 21 de junho de 1925 – Lenox, 13 de março de 2006) foi uma premiada atriz estadunidense. Ela foi indicada ao Oscar de melhor atriz coadjuvante pelos filmes Por um Pouco de Amor (1958), Aeroporto (1970) e Interiores (1978), antes de ganhar o prêmio por sua atuação como Emma Goldman em Reds (1981). Por este último, Stapleton também ganhou o BAFTA Award de melhor atriz coadjuvante.[1] Ela foi indicada para cinco Prêmios Globos de Ouro, vencendo por Aeroporto. Seus outros papéis de destaque no cinema incluem Adeus, Amor (1963), Hotel das Ilusões (1971), O Fã - Obsessão Cega (1981), Cocoon (1985) e Um Dia a Casa Cai (1986).

Por seu trabalho na televisão, ela foi indicada a sete Prêmios Emmy e ganhou um pelo telefilme Between the Paths to Eden (1967).[2]
No teatro, ela fez sua estreia na Broadway em 1946 na peça The Playboy of the Western World e ganhou o Prêmio Tony em 1951 por The Rose Tattoo e em 1971 por The Gingerbread Lady.[3] Ela ainda recebeu quatro indicações ao prêmio e foi introduzida no Hall of Fame do American Theatre em 1981.[4]
Stapleton é uma das 23 pessoas que alcançaram o que é chamado de Tríplice Coroa da Atuação.[5] Em 1975 ela foi indicada ao Prêmio Grammy.[6]
